These should help you to better understand the career possibilities in the growing field of 3D animation. As you do, I hope you will be convinced that choosing MSJC as your partner can help you achieve your dreams of, one day, working in this exciting industry.

The 3D animation courses are centered around the Maya software, which is rapidly becoming the preferred software for the entertainment industry. Staying with a single professional-grade package affords MSJC students the time to master the necessary skills and learn the additional concepts that employer's demand of entry-level personnel.

The curriculum consists of two courses where all the basic skills are taught. This is followed by three courses that develop expertise in the special topics character design, effects and rendering. Each summer, students can take a course to build up their portfolios and demo reels. Faculty may review and recommend promising students to participate in internship programs with industry partners.
